Step 01. Read and Learn the Pattern

1. 지난 주에 콘서트에 갔는데 정말 재미있어요.
2. 그 영화 봤는데 별로 재미 없었어.
3. 옷을 입어 봤는데 저한테 잘 안 어울려요.

4. 시청에 가려고 하는데 어떻게 가요?
5. 지금 마트에 가는데 부탁할 거 있어?

Step 02. Learn Grammars

<words and expression>

별로 +negative: (not) really, 어울리다 be suit on, 부탁할 거 favor to ask, 하나 더 큰 사이즈 one more size bigger, 나중에 later, 다시 again, 천천히 slowly

<Grammar: -는데/은데/ㄴ데>

1) '-는데/은데/ㄴ데' indicates ① is the background or situation for ②.

2) The type of sentences for ② are explanation (no. 1,2,3), question (no. 4,5,6), propose (no. 7,8) or commanding/request (no. 9, 10).

3) 형태 Formation
⠂Action verb/ 있다/없다 verb +는데 (ex. 가는데, 먹는데, 재미있는데, 돈이 없는데)
⠂Descriptive verb (받침O) + 은데 (ex. 작은데, 많은데)
⠂Descriptive verb (받침X) + ㄴ데 (ex.  큰데, 예쁜데)
*'ㅂ' irregular verb ㅂ→ 우: 춥다+은데 → 추운데

4)  If its background/situation was happened in past, it has to combine with  the past particle -았/었/했- (ex. 갔는데, 먹었는데, 가려고 했는데)

Step 03. Practice

1. Please combine with -는데/은데/ㄴ데

작다/ 바쁘다/ 멋있다/ 늦었다 (was/were late)/ 키가 크다/ 좁다(be narrow)/ 넓다 (be wide/spacious)

2. Make sentences in Korean using '-는데/은데/ㄴ데'

1) Since this cloth is too big, can you give me one size smaller?
2) Since we were late, let's take a taxi!
3) As this food is delicious, can I eat more?
4) Since the room is small, I want to change to bigger room.
5) As I like this cloth, how do you think?
