If the speaker is older or higher ranking thank you, you should talk in polite ending. For the polite ending, there are two type, formal or informal situations.
1) The formal polite ending is used in the public announcement or the office meetings. Also, the news anchors in Korea broadcasting stations speak in formal polite ending.
2) Informal polite ending is used in other than the situation mentioned for the formal polite ending situation. The relationship between the speaker and listener is close but the speaker still need to be polite and respect the listener.
3) Lastly, the casual ending so called 반말 /ban-mal/ is used when the speaker and listener are very close like friends or family members. Even they are friends, both of them still agree to speak in Ban-mal.
*"안녕히 가세요" is by the host to the guest when the guest leaves the host's house while the guest says '안녕히 계세요" to the host.
